Privacy policy
Effective 1 October 2026. Applies to the Medication Dispenser app and this website.
In short: we keep what you enter so the app can work, we show it only to you and the caregivers you invite, we do not sell it, advertise with it or track you, and you can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time.

What we keep

The app also keeps a copy of your data on your device so it can work offline. That copy is cleared when you sign out or delete your account.
Permissions on your phone
- Bluetooth, to connect to your dispenser. It is used only when you add or use a dispenser, and the app does not search for devices in the background.
- Location, on Android 7 to 11 only. Those versions of Android require Location permission before any app can find Bluetooth devices. The app asks for it only to find your dispenser. It never reads, stores or sends your location.
- Notifications, for medication reminders and alerts. Because notifications can appear on a locked screen, by default they do not name your medications, your dispensers or the people you care for. You can change this in the app (Settings, then Accessibility).
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not show advertising or use your information for advertising.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- The app includes no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK.
- We use your information only to run the features you see in the app.
Who can see it
Only you, and only the caregivers you choose to invite. You decide what each caregiver can view or change, and you can remove them at any time. When a dose is missed or not dispensed, or a supply runs low, the caregivers you allowed to receive alerts see a notice in the app that includes your name and the medication's name.
We do not share your information with anyone else, except with the service providers that host it for us (below) and if the law requires it.
Where it is stored
Your data is stored on servers run by our hosting and database providers in the United States. They process it only to provide the service to us. Your connection to those servers is encrypted in transit, and passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in readable form.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your information until you delete it.
To delete your account, open the app and go to Settings, then Account & Privacy, then Delete Account. You confirm the deletion in the app; you do not need to contact us. This permanently deletes your account and removes your medications, schedules, dose history, dispensers, caregiver connections and invitations, and notifications from our servers, removes the alerts about you from your caregivers' inboxes, signs out every device, and clears the copy stored on your device. If you signed in with Apple, the app's access to your Apple ID is also revoked. It cannot be undone. We keep only a record that an account was deleted and when, without your name, email address or any health information. Our database provider may keep short-lived backups for a limited time after deletion, after which they are discarded.
If you cannot use the app, email us from the address on your account and we will delete the account for you. You can also ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Children
Medication Dispenser is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
What this app is not
This app records what you enter and what your dispenser reports. It does not give medical advice, and it does not check that a medication is right for you. Always follow your care team's instructions.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the app does with your information, we will update this page and the privacy screen in the app (Settings, then Privacy and your data) before the change takes effect, and change the date above.
